The Chilton County Varsity Tigers and Benjamin Russell Varsity Wildcats faced off in a competitive three-game series that delivered plenty of offense, momentum swings, and standout individual performances.

Chilton County opened the series with a 13-10 victory on Friday in a high-scoring contest fueled by a dominant performance from Chloe Shiers. Shiers drove in four runs on four hits, including a solo home run, while also adding a double and two singles. The Tigers racked up 15 hits compared to seven by Benjamin Russell.

The Tigers struck first in the opening inning when Mallie Harrison singled to bring in a run, and they added another in the second on a Shiers RBI single. Benjamin Russell responded in the third to tie the game before briefly taking the lead in the fourth. Shiers’ home run evened the score, and Harrison’s blast in the fifth gave Chilton County a 5-4 advantage.

The Wildcats surged ahead in the sixth inning with a five-run outburst, but the Tigers answered emphatically in the bottom half, scoring eight runs on five hits to reclaim control. Kaylee Dunn delivered a key two-run single in the rally. Dunn also started in the circle, pitching five innings, while Harrison appeared in relief. Offensively, Harrison, Leilani Leon, and Dunn each recorded multiple hits, and the Tigers showcased aggressive base running with seven stolen bases.

Benjamin Russell was led by Marable, who went 3-for-5 with two RBIs, while the team displayed plate discipline with seven walks and played error-free defense.

In Game 2 on Monday, Benjamin Russell edged Chilton County 8-7 in a tightly contested matchup. Harrison once again provided an early spark for the Tigers with a solo home run in the second inning. The Wildcats responded in the fourth, highlighted by a two-run double from Lydia Montgomery and an RBI single by Kyleigh Leonard.

Chilton County surged ahead in the sixth inning with five runs, capped by a three-run home run from Molly Doucet. However, Benjamin Russell rallied in the seventh inning, capitalizing on key hits and a Tigers error to score four runs and secure the win.

Doucet led the Tigers offensively with three RBIs, while Harrison showed patience at the plate with three walks. Shiers added speed on the bases with two stolen bases. For the Wildcats, Aubrey Chapman and Zoya Menniefield each had two hits, while Montgomery, Leonard, and Menniefield each drove in two runs.

The Tigers bounced back in decisive fashion in Game 3, earning an 11-1 victory behind a dominant fourth inning in which they scored seven runs. The rally included RBIs from Dunn, Harrison, Doucet, and Leon, along with a pair of runs scoring on an error.

Chilton County got on the board early with a solo home run from Lily Benson in the first inning and added another run in the third on Dunn’s double. Dunn also excelled in the circle, allowing just one run on seven hits over five innings while striking out six.

Leilani Leon led the Tigers with two hits, while Harrison, Leon, and Dunn each drove in two runs. The Tigers also demonstrated strong plate discipline, drawing nine walks, and played solid defense without committing an error.

For Benjamin Russell, Merriefield and Montgomery each recorded two hits, while Fuller accounted for the team’s lone RBI.

The series showcased resilience from both teams, with Chilton County claiming two of the three games behind explosive innings and consistent offensive production.
